George W. Bush is BATMAN....

Yeah you read it right..finally the truth is out..George W. Bush is Batman. Have you seen the insignia of BATMAN? It is a Giant 'W'. And that gave him away. George Bush alias BATMAN is flying around the World in his wellknown black cape, squashing the Islamic Terrorists like bugs, protecting folks in Salina, KS from the evils of liberals, gay marriage and abortion, extending his love and protection for kids in Cobb Country, GA from the evils of Evolution and Global Warming Science, you and me from dangers of reason and reality. And you thought, you had seen the end of rightwing dreaming?

Meet Andrew Klavan, the rightwing author in his commentary in the once vaunted newspaper WSJ, now owned by Rupert Murdoch, who wrote,

"A cry for help goes out from a city beleaguered by violence and fear: A beam of light flashed into the night sky, the dark symbol of a bat projected onto the surface of the racing clouds . . .

Oh, wait a minute. That's not a bat, actually. In fact, when you trace the outline with your finger, it looks kind of like . . . a "W."

There seems to me no question that the Batman film "The Dark Knight," currently breaking every box office record in history, is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war. Like W, Batman is vilified and despised for confronting terrorists in the only terms they understand. Like W, Batman sometimes has to push the boundaries of civil rights to deal with an emergency, certain that he will re-establish those boundaries when the emergency is past.

And like W, Batman understands that there is no moral equivalence between a free society -- in which people sometimes make the wrong choices -- and a criminal sect bent on destruction. The former must be cherished even in its moments of folly; the latter must be hounded to the gates of Hell."

Klavan writes more about how the movie Dark Knight is actually a conservative movie on terror. It is making a fortune today because it depicts the "values and necessities that the Bush administration cannot seem to articulate..."

So who is Andrew Klavan? According to the AP reviewer Bruce DeSilva while reviewing Klavan's recent novel "Empire of Lies" he is ...

Klavan occupies the portion of the political spectrum commonly known as right-wing crackpot.

Through Harrow he tells us, among other things, that the entire media is a left-wing conspiracy, that taxes steal from the rich to give to the poor, that America is in a holy war with Islam, that the truth about darned near everything in the United States is obscured by a blizzard of politically correct lies and that anyone who disagrees with him is deluded.

Supposedly Klavan had wrote crime novels namely Dynamite Road and True Crime. Klavan has a run of the mill rightwing blog where he fawns over Glenn Beck as a big fan..

Well are you having nightmares by now of George W. Bush alias BATMAN chasing the progressive, liberal you down the streets of City of Gotham? Well, I'm..

But then if Klavan was sane, George W. Bush is BATMAN, I'm Einstein and I've a date with Giselle Bundchen...

And how come you didn't know the truth about (2.00 / 1)

Re: George W. Bush is BATMAN.... (2.00 / 2)

I read that, found it linked on another blog the other day.
I literally laughed out loud when I read the piece, and then I read this:

And like W, Batman understands that there is no moral equivalence between a free society -- in which people sometimes make the wrong choices -- and a criminal sect bent on destruction. The former must be cherished even in its moments of folly; the latter must be hounded to the gates of Hell."

He is actually calling things like the Iraq war "moments of folly".

People sometimes make the wrong choices.

And sometimes they make the choices they do because their greed and stupidity doesn't allow them to see beyond the day after tomorrow.

I can't believe there are people out there that actually think like this and then have the gall to publish it.

I may be a straight male...but, Batman Christian Bale is hot.
George W. Bush is no Batman.
lol

The thing is ludicrous.
I can't imagine even supporters of Dubya taking this Klavan douchebag seriously.
He probably thinks that V represented W, because, after all, they do look a lot alike. In fact, W is really V on steroids.

Re: George W. Bush is BATMAN.... (2.00 / 1)

yeah, I have a hetero man crush on Bale too.   saw his doc the other nite, and American Psyco again too.  and batman, which Ledger was phenomenal in...but honestly I immediately thought of FISA during a scene.  I dont know if it was a validation of it, in fact I read a review in which the director Nolan said he is not trying to make political themes rather he implements current controversial actions and goings on into his movies.  I think is was a recognition of the act rather than a validation

I read this too at the weekend. Or at least I read the title. These people are batshit crazy. Today we had Boskin, chairman of Bush's economic panel of advisors, surrounded by recessions, financial meltdown, record deficits, doubling the public debt, plunging dollar, et al warning us Obama would cause a recession. They have no contact with reality.

Yeah..rightwing have no touch with reality (none / 0)

..now they are dreaming that they are BATMANS, Supermans, Spiderman...

G W. Bush is Joel Schumacher (2.00 / 1)

Please do not degrade or disrespect BATMAN or anything related to the Dark Knight.

Destroyers of the franchise like Schumacher are fair game.

Re: George W. Bush is BATMAN.... (2.00 / 2)

Well he got the bat part right. He's bat-shit crazy.

Although, this description of him could fit an awful lot of people on both ends of the political spectrum - "and that anyone who disagrees with him is deluded."
