Obama on Edwards

Just for the record, here is what Obama had to say about Edwards upon landing in Honolulu:

"The Edwards family indicated that they probably wouldn't be attending the convention. I understand that, look this is a difficult and painful time for them and I think they need to work through that process of healing. John Edwards was a great champion of working people through the course of this campaign. Many of his themes are ones that Democrats as a whole share, those will be amplified in the convention, and I wish them all well." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/ story?id=5544983&page=1

Here is what HRC had to say about Edwards at a press conference after her event for Obama in Vegas.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the Edwards family today and that's all I've got to say." www.thepage.com

I'm predicting that the North Carolina GOP will attempt to tie Edwards to Obama if you remember the Wright video that it tried to run during the primaries.  I greatly admire Elizabeth Edwards and this revelation is pretty darn stinging.  I was never a fan of her husbands and I'm even less of a fan tonight.

If the Republicans try to use this. I think they will be digging their own grave which is deep enough already. Rec

it opens the door on McCain (2.00 / 1)

who not only had an affair while his wife was sick, but left her and actually married the beer heiress. Thats why he wouldn't comment today.

John Edwards had an affair. I doubt (none / 0)

they will try to tie that up with Obama since McCain cheated on his first wife after she was handicapped from a car accident with Cindy McCain.

When you start out making the "slippery slope" argument, where do you draw the line?

Re: Obama on Edwards (none / 0)

This sparked a dark & ugly thought, prompting me to wade through the fetid muck.  Republicans may not be using this - yet, but the CentsLess are trying.  And they approach it with all the tact (and intellect) of a bulldozer.

Sigh.

Disappointed that some in the (none / 0)

Clinton blogosphere, now pro-Obama blogosphere are claiming that one of the reasons why Edward's affair is relevant is because his not entering the race could have impacted the outcome of the primaries.  I don't know how this kind of talk is productive but the insinuation is that HRC would have won Iowa had Edwards not entered.

Not one mention today about HRC (2.00 / 1)

at Obama's rally.  Does anybody have any info as to how it went?  I hope Obama will eventually utilize her as something more than someone who says "Obama is a great guy" or "our journeys have become one."  That's a complete waste of her talent.

Why not have her shill your energy plan?  It's remarkably similar to her energy plan anyway; she's probably all into that "spro" stuff.  The way she says the two words "oil companies" is beautiful; she says it with as much derision as she would say the two words "Ken Starr."

So, my advice for Obama is to take the straight jacket off of HRC when she is campaigning for or with you.

Good statements by both Obama and Clinton.  Said what they needed to say and nothing more.

Re: Obama on Edwards (2.00 / 2)

They will also tie Obama to Hill, and any other dem they feel can get their base motivated. Duh.

You took nice comments from Obama and Hill and try to turn it into  a negative diary. How about putting some of that effort into attacking McSame?

STOP ATTACKING DEMOCRATS! GO AFTER THE ENEMY!
